FAQs
I have added a new Alarm Lock locking device to my system, but I am unable to communicate with it using my AL-DTM-III Data Transfer Module. The display on the AL-DTM-III reads, "PLUG IN AND ENTER CODE", but when I do, nothing happens. In addition, I verified that a DTM Download code was created. How can I communicate with this lock?
When adding a new locking device to your existing system using an AL-DTM-III, be sure the AL-DTM-III is in "Door Select Mode" to allow communication. To access "Door Select Mode", simply "default" (restore the AL-DTM-III to its original factory settings) as follows:
- Press the green button until "PC Comm Mode" is displayed.
- Press and hold down both the green button and far left black button simultaneously until a series of beeps is heard (see image below).
When the beeps end, the AL-DTM-III is defaulted. The display presents an option to operate in "Select Mode" or "Standard Mode".
For new lock installations, choose "Select Mode". The display then presents an option to operate in "Lock Mode" or "Door Select Mode" (choose "Door Select Mode"). Proceed with communicating from the PC to the AL-DTM-III, and when the communication process completes, the AL-DTM-III will contain the program for the new locking device, as well as its Lock ID. You will now be able to communicate from the AL-DTM-III to the lock, and vice versa.
