FAQs
If the Napco iSeeVideo cameras go offline, does Napco know about it? Can they tell? If the system loses its Internet connection, will the devices still record to the ISEE-IVR Internet Video Recorder?
The cameras and the ISEE-IVR Internet Video Recorder can be fully supervised by the customer. Each device (camera and ISEE-IVR) checks into the server every 15 seconds. If 5 minutes elapse without a check-in, Napco has an option to send a notification to the customer about their offline device. For example:
Dear Tom Kraft,
The Camera or IVR 'ISV WOCAM' went OFFLINE at 2/6/2012 4:18:19 AM (Central Time)
Account: NAPC651043
Device: 00C0020C5171
PLEASE CHECK!
You will never have a case where you access the ISEE-IVR recorder to check an event, only to find that the camera has been down for months.
To enable, go to My Alerts and enter an email address in the last slot marked Email for Device(s) Supervision:
If the Internet connection is lost, the ISEE-IVR will continue to operate properly. As long as you have power to the cameras, ISEE-IVR, WAP and router, Napco will still collect the video. You will have to wait until the Internet is restored to view the video, since you need the iSeeVideo portal to log into the account.
