FAQs
What can cause alerts not to be received into the CardAccess 3000 software from the wireless lock?
1) If the wireless lock is communicating via a hardwired ethernet cable, and there is a wireless card in the PC, you must make the direct connect ethernet adapter the first adapter in the binding list.
To change the binding order of the ethernet adaptors, it is different for various operating systems. In Windows 7, open Control Panel and click "Network and Sharing". Click "Change Adapter Settings". Verify a menu displays with "Advanced" in the menu. If the menu does not display, click "Organize", select "Layout" and click "Menu bar". The menu bar should now display.
Click "Advanced" on the menu bar. Click "Advanced Settings". Select "Adapters and Binding". Using the up and down arrows, position the Ethernet selection at the top of the list. Being first in the binding order give the Ethernet adapter the first priority.
2)Under Confuration>Wireless Locks>Gateways>Configure Network settings, you MUST verify the local network is configured for the IP address of the host computer. VERY IMPORTANT-While doing the initial programming on the Gateway, you must be on the same subnet as the CardAccess 3000 host computer. After a static IP address is programmed into the Gateway, then it can be moved to a different subnet.
3) If problems exist after moving the Gateway to another subnet, contact Continental Technical Support for a software patch to address crossing subnets using a Wireless Lock.
