FAQs
When I assign one or more keyfob points as a wireless zone input device (i.e. 24 hour panic zone) for zones 1-8 on the control panel, the zone may not be faulted when the corresponding button is pressed on the keyfob. How can I resolve this?
You must reduce the zone response time to 50ms when you assign a keyfob wireless RF ID # and point to a zone on the control panel. This duration ensures that the zone(s) fault when the corresponding button on the keyfob is pressed.
Note: The above duration requirement applies to the GEM-P3200 and GEM-P9600 firmware versions 20 or greater, and the GEM-X255 version 1 or greater.
Additional Notes:
- GEM-P816/GEM-P1632 control panels (firmware V8 and greater) will operate correctly with wither the 750ms or 50ms loop response programmed.
- The GEM-KEYF cannot be programmed into the keyfob section of the control panel when used as zone input device.
- The GEM-KEYF button mapping when JP1 is uncut and used as a zone input device is as follows:
Point 1 = top left Point 2 = top right
Point 3 = bottom left Point 4 = bottom right
- GEM-KEYF with JP1 cut converts to a 2 point panic keyfob when used as a zone input device, as follows:
Point 4 = Top 2 buttons Point 3 = Bottom 2 buttons
