FAQs
While control panel programming by keypad, using digital LED display keypads, certain key presses appear to be ignored. How can I resolve this?
When programming the control panel using a keypad with an LED display, you may experience difficulty due to a "Program Mode beep" that sounds every 15 seconds when the system is in User or Dealer Program Mode.
If, while entering data in Program Mode, a key is pressed at the same time a "Program Mode beep" sounds, the key press will be ignored. As key presses are more likely to be ignored when programming long strings of data, we recommend planning and coordinating your data input key presses to make programming easier.
In other words, the "Program Mode beep" occurs every 15 seconds. If you are entering data and feel you are coming upon the end of a beep interval window, do not rush; instead, simply stop and wait for the "Program Mode beep", then carefully finish entering the data.
For example, when programming the Central Station Telephone Number in the Easy Menu-Driven Program Mode, go to the data entry location of the Telephone Number and wait for the keypad to beep. Press the MENU / FUNCTION button and enter the telephone number. Wait again for the beep, then press ENTER or ON/OFF to save the data. To review the data entered, use the MENU / FUNCTION button to display each digit pressed.
