FAQs
On my StarLink dual path communicator, which input is in trouble if LED labeled "D5" is flashing 8 times?
When the LED labeled "D5" is flashing 8 times, the 10KΩ resistor is missing or there is an open circuit in one of the communicator inputs, IN2 - IN5.
Troubleshoot using the following readings:
- Input voltage when 10KΩ resistor is across the input and connected correctly: 4-5VDC
- Input voltage when the 10KΩ resistor is missing across the input: 10-11VDC
- Input voltage when the input is shorted: 0VDC
The input causing the trouble can easily be identified using these simple meter readings.
