How can I make it easier to install the cylinder tailpiece in the Alarm Lock model DL2700-IC Schlage full format IC core door lock?
For Alarm Lock models DL2700-IC (Schlage full format IC core) equipped with a slotted washer/spacer, please note the following helpful tip when installing the cylinder tailpiece:
The washer / spacer (shown in photo, below) is free spinning. Therefore, before attempting to install the cylinder tailpiece, ensure that both the tailpiece and the slot are in the vertical position by using a screwdriver to orientate the slot vertically. With the slot oriented vertically, the flat tailpiece on the cylinder will easily slide through the slot.
