FAQs
Is my StarLink Connect communicator equipped with the latest Z-Wave 500-level PC board?
500-level Z-Wave modules inside StarLink Connect communicators provide increased range, support "Z-Wave Plus" devices, and are backwards compatible with "classic" Z-Wave devices. There are two methods to determine if a 500-level PC board is installed inside your communicator:
First Method
On the StarLink Connect device, look for a small rectangular sticker on the PCB; stickers that read "ZWAVEMOD3" are 500-level Z-Wave modules ("ZWAVEMOD2" denote 300-level modules).
Second Method
In the NAPCO NOC (www.NapcoNoc.com) website, registered communicators display their firmware version in the Checkins tab (example shown below). Communicators with firmware versions 148.5.96 / 56.10 and above are equipped with 500-level Z-Wave modules (the older 300-level modules will display 144.5.96 / 56.10).
