How do I factory reset a double-sided Alarm Lock PDL6300 with the yellow reset cable?
Before proceeding, refresh your memory with the following description of the Double-Sided PDL6300:
Double-Sided Description
Both sides of the lock contain keypads, keyholes, levers and proximity readers. To differentiate between the two sides of the PDL6300, these instructions refer to the "Primary" side and the "Secondary" side. The Primary side has the Lock Body Housing attached; inserting the metal key into the Primary side lock cylinder will always unlock the latch, allowing entry or exit. The Secondary side contains the battery; inserting the metal key into its lock cylinder will NEVER unlock the latch. The key inserted into the Secondary side ONLY allows secure removal / installation of the Secondary side Lever. Note: To remove the Secondary side Lever, the metal key must be used to allow the Lever Catch to be depressed.
Factory Reset "Alternative Method" (Master Code not known)
- Remove the Secondary side handle.
- Disconnect the battery pack.
- Remove the screws from the Secondary side mounting plate and screws from Secondary side rose plate.
- Remove the Primary side body from the door to allow access to the electronics. Remove the Primary side back plate by unscrewing the four flat head Phillips screws.
- Locate the Reset Cable (two yellow wires with a black connector, soldered into the Primary side PC board). In the hardware package that was included in the factory packaging, locate the Reset Shunt Cable (single yellow wire loop with a black connector). Plug the Reset Shunt Cable into the lock Reset Cable connector.
Wiring and Power Up
- Press and hold down the "AL" keypad key for 10 seconds (to ensure all power is drained from the lock) and release.
- Connect the batteries and listen for 3 beeps. After hearing the 3 beeps, you have 3 seconds to press and hold "AL". After hearing 6 additional beeps, release "AL". Note: If you do not hear the 3 beeps after connecting the batteries, you must start over at step 2. Always be sure to follow this exact procedure.
- Test by pressing the default Master Code of 123456 (a beep will sound and the lock will unlock). Note: We recommend leaving the shunt wire off for security. With the wire on, the lock can be reset.
- Reinstall the Primary mounting plate with 4 flat head Phillips screws. Run the main cable harness and motor wires through the door.
Install the Secondary rose plate and the Secondary mounting plate. Carefully route the motor wire through the slot in the rose plate and into the motor cable notch without pinching or cutting the wire. Reinstall the Secondary housing and handle.
All settings and programming have been erased.
In the installation instructions provided with the unit, proceed directly to the section, "Enter Program Mode and Change Factory Master Code".
