FAQs
What are the settings and other factors I need to consider when using a StarLink communicator to report over IP to a Sur-Gard receiver?
The Sur-Gard maximum transmitter failure Debounce Interval is 18 hours. Accounts are created in Sur-Gard automatically when a signal is sent for the first time. Commercial accounts are required by UL to be supervised by the receiver. For non-UL plans, (e.g. 24 hour and 7 days), these will now be flagged as unsupervised in the receiver (the receiver will not generate a YC or YK).
The account will send an E603 (Periodic RF Xmission Test-Periodic Radio), instead every 12 hours for a 24 hour plan or every 3 days for a 7 day plan, (this is not viewable in the Radio Log).
Note: The Send CID 603 for Supervision check box will NOT be able to be checked for the 200 sec., 5 min., 60 min., 6 hr. Fire plans nor for the 200 sec. or 6 min. Commercial Burg plans (because these are UL plans).
When reporting an unsupervised account to a Sur-Gard System 5 receiver, the account must be sent to the DNIS for profile 0 or default (a "catch-all" profile).
