FAQs
When a StarLink SLE-Commercial radio is reporting via IP to a Sur-Gard IP receiver, how do we program a 24 Hour Test Timer when using the contact inputs located on the radio?
It is not possible to send a 24 Hour Test Timer when using contact inputs and IP reporting, nor is it necessary or required.
When using IP reporting, the ping that comes from the radio every (200 seconds, 5 minutes or 60 minutes) goes through the NOC to the Sur-Gard receiver. Since the pings go to the receiver, the radio is sending a test every (200 seconds, 5 minutes or 60 minutes) depending on the plan selected. Additionally, the wiring Inputs 2 and 3 on the commercial-series radios are supervised, thus not requiring supervision as a telephone connection would.
In short, a 24 hour Test Timer is redundant in this situation.
