FAQs
Can I power my locks using the +12 volts on a Superterm or a Turbo Superterm?
NO
The 12 volts on the Superterm and Turbo Superterm is rated for 500 ma. It is recommended to use an external power supply to power any locks. If too much current is drawn on the 12 volt line on a Superterm or TurboSuperterm, the board will buzz and eventually get damaged. Continental Access offers an expanded 12 volt power supply which provides 3.4 amps on the 12V line.
The Super Two controller supplies 1.6 Amps on the 12 volt auxiallary port on the bottom right of the board. The 12 volts on the auxilliary port can be used to power locks as long as you don’t exceed 1.6 amps.
