FAQs
I've been using the NAPCO "My Home StarLink" mobile app to remotely arm and disarm my security system through the Serial Port of my StarLink SLE series radio. The StarLink radio is wired to my alarm control panel Serial Port. Why am I now unable to remotely arm and disarm my alarm system?
The "Remote Arm" feature not only simplifies arming and disarming for your customer, but also has the added benefit of freeing up an extra control panel zone to allow it to be used for other purposes, and also greatly simplifies control panel wiring. For troubleshooting, we recommend the following:
- For StarLink models SLE-CDMA and SLE-CDMA-8D, ensure the latest version of the Verizon radio firmware (currently 9.0.12 / 0.1) is installed
- For StarLink models SLE-GSM-3/4G and SLE-GSM-8D-3/4G, ensure the latest version of the AT&T and T-Mobile radio firmware (currently 5.2.21 / 1.5) is installed
- (Optional) Upload the control panel programming through the StarLink radio using PCD-Windows Quickloader Software version 6.3.4 or later
- Ensure the control panel firmware is updated to the latest version
