How do I configure the modem settings in PCD-Windows Quickloader?
To configure the modem settings in PCD-Windows Quickloader Download software, open Quickloader and click File, Modem Settings. The Serial Communication Setup screen allows you to set the modem port that provides the data transfer to and from the Napco security devices. The Serial Communication Setup screen allows up to five separate communication ports to be configured simultaneously, although for manual account uploads and downloads, only one will be used. The following details the various fields and settings of the Serial Communication Setup screen:
- Modem Port – Identifies the communication port for the modem
- Dial-out Prefix – Allows entry of a constant prefix (for example, the addition of specific numbers when dialing out over a telephone PBX)
- Telephone Number – For reference only; identifies the telephone number the software uses to make a call
- PCI Port – Specifies the communication port for the PCI2000 or PCI mini
- Modem Type – Select the modem manufacturer and model used for remote communication
- Modem Location – Specifies if the modem is internal or external
- Dialing Method – Specifies whether pulse or tones are used
- Speaker Volume – Allows the adjustment of the modem speaker sound intensity
- Carrier Detect – Select fast or slow
- Call Monitor – Select when the communications will sound through the modem speaker
- Find Local Ports – Updates the selection of available ports
