How do I re-wire the StarLink Dual Path Fire Communicator with a power supply to drop Telco 2 voltage upon a power supply trouble (i.e. AC Fail / Low Batt)?
To re-wire the StarLink Dual Path Fire Communicator with a power supply to drop Telco 2 voltage
upon a power supply trouble (i.e. AC Fail / Low Batt), proceed as follows:
- Remove the JP2 jumper on the StarLink communicator.
- Install a jumper on J2 on the SLE-ULPS-R power supply.
- Remove wiring from terminal 21 on the communicator and from terminal 5 on the power supply.
- Run a jumper wire from terminal 5 on the power supply to terminal 9 on the power supply.
- Series a 10K EOLR between terminal 11 on the communicator and terminal 10 on the power supply (disconnect the one side of the EOLR on terminal 12 on the communicator, then wire a jumper to the end of the 10K EOLR to terminal 10 on the power supply).
A trouble on the power supply will now cause Input 5 (IN5) to open, thus causing the communicator to go into trouble. This will drop power to Telco 2 causing the fire control panel to annunciate a Telco 2 trouble. If Input 5 is programed to report to the central station, define the trouble as Communicator Power Supply trouble.
