FAQs
Which NAPCO products can I use to connect to my existing NAPCO control panels and upload and download programming information?
There are several communication methods you can use to connect to your existing control panels:
1. Traditional Telephone Line: You can remotely connect your PC to all of our NAPCO Gemini series and Magnum Alert series control panels (except the model MA2600) by using a PCI2000 computer interface and a STAR COMM 2400E modem (part QUICK-MODEM).
2. GPRS StarLink GSM / CDMA: You can connect any of our StarLink SLE Series GSM / CDMA radios to all our Gemini control panels using the local download socket (labeled "...LOCAL DOWNLOAD ONLY") located on the control panel motherboard.
3. TCP/IP: You can connect using an iBridge (IBR-ZREMOTE), an iRemote (iREMOTE-MOD), GEMC-NL-MOD and NL-MOD-UL to upload and download your Gemini control panels using TCP/IP for communications. Note: The control panel firmware requirements are as follows:
- Gemini GEM-P816, GEM-P1632 and GEM-P1664 require V30 or greater.
- Gemini GEM-P3200, GEM-P9600 and GEM-X255 require V40 or greater.
Note: Port forwarding is not required when using an iBridge IBR-ZREMOTE.
