FAQs
How do I wire and program for Door Ajar and/or a Forced Entry Zone using the NAPCO AccessPro, GEM-ACM1D Access Control Accessory and the GEM-2D Second Door Access Control Accessory?
Wire a door contact to ACM terminals 25 and 26 on the GEM-ACM1D (terminals 43 and 44 on the GEM-2D with a 2.2K EOLR. The same or separate zones can be used, depending on how the conditions are desired to operate. The zone or zones must exist on the system (control panel or EZM zone) and must be wired with a 2.2K EOLR. When the door event occurs, the associated zone will be tripped.
Door Ajar Zone: Triggered when the zone (door) is opened and remains open after a valid card read (or egress) for more than 30 seconds.
Day Zone: Program zone for Day Zone/Trouble Short. This will sound the keypad until the RESET button is pressed. The zone can also be programmed to report a zone trouble by programming Report Trouble on Telco1 (the Zone Option "RPT Trouble Tel 1").
Relay trip W/Local sounder: Using a relay board (RM3008 or GEM-OUT8) open the PCD-Windows Quickloader System Assignment screen, External Relay Control tab. Program the Event/Type/Condition door ajar zone to follow on short (this will trip the local sounder until the door is closed).
Forced Entry Zone: Opening of the access door without unlocking it first via a valid card read or egress.
Program the Event/Type/Condition forced entry zone to follow on short (this will trip the local sounder until the door is closed).
24hr Zone: Program a forced entry zone for 24 hour protection to trip and report an alarm condition.
NOTES:-
- Both options can be programmed if required.
- Program selective bypass for Day Zone and 24hr Zone. End users can bypass if door will need to be manually opened and/or held open.
- If using a Forced Entry Zone you must use an egress motion detector or the zone will trip every time someone exits.
