FAQs
I am unable to communicate with my Control 4 system through the IBR-ZREMOTE. Do you have a checklist of items I can verify?
Ensure your control panel is running the correct firmware:
- With the GEM-P816 / -P1632 / -P1664 series panels, use V31A or greater
- With GEM-P3200 / -P9600 / -X255 series panels, use V60A23 or greater
- With "No EPROM" GEM-P3200 / -P9600 / -X255 series panels, use V71K or greater
The firmware version of PCD-Windows Quickloader must be V6.3.4 or greater.
Verify that your IBR-ZREMOTE is running the latest firmware, RCM version 3H7 with current Z-Wave Luminary 6165. Note: The Part # that has the latest firmware preloaded is "C-IBR-ZREMOTE" (to check your current version, use the NL-MODCONFIG software included with the supplied CD).
Verify both CAT5 cables are connected to the IBR-ZREMOTE. The Ethernet port located on the right side is primarily designated as the "automation port" that communicates with the Control 4 system (this port must obtain an IP address through DHCP).
If your Control 4 system is running Composer version 2.7.2 or greater, you must install the "online" NAPCO "Stay & Away" K1CA type driver or the NAPCO "Classic" RP1CAE2 type driver only and enroll the IBR-ZREMOTE afterwards to retrieve its Control 4 address using Composer (found in Connections > Network). In enroll mode, you must press one of the two white buttons found on the IBR-ZREMOTE to enroll its address. Note: To verify the latest device driver using Composer 2.7.2, right-click your security system and select Info to ensure the version that appears is "10063" or greater; if not, uninstall the IBR-ZREMOTE driver and install the on-line version by searching for NAPCO in Composer under "Search", then enroll the correct IBR-ZREMOTE driver using the process described above.
In the PCD-Windows Quickloader Keypad Assignment screen, ensure that your IBR-ZREMOTE has an assigned keypad address number and its Type is set to "RCM". Selecting the correct keypad Type is very important because the Type selected must correspond to the correct driver used in Control 4 Composer (either the "Stay & Away" K1CA type driver or the "Classic" RP1CAE2 type driver).
If you are still unable communicate with your Control 4 system through the IBR-ZREMOTE, please call NAPCO Technical Support at 1-800-645-9440 (option 3).
