My door is old and has damage or too many holes in the area where the lock is to be installed, and/or my door has a mortise lock installed but I want to install a cylindrical Alarm Lock product.
As long as there is a gap of 3/16" or more between the edge of the door and the door jamb, you can use Alarm Lock part CW-27S (stainless steel wrap-around plate shown below) to cover damage, wrong holes, or convert a mortise lock door prep to a cylindrical-style installation on any 1¾ inch thick door (2¾ backset only).
