FAQs
For Gemini control panel models GEM-P816, GEM-P1632, GEM-P1664, GEM-P3200, GEM-P9600 and GEM-X255: What is the oldest firmware version each control panel model can have that still allows an upgrade to the latest versions?
All GEM-X255 control panels can be upgraded to the latest firmware.
All GEM-P1664 control panels can be upgraded to the latest firmware.
For the GEM-P3200, GEM-P9600: Only firmware V20 or later (released in May of 1999) can be upgraded to the latest firmware. For versions below V20, the latest version to which it can be upgraded is to V11E (which incidentally addressed a daylight saving time issue).
For the GEM-P816 and GEM-P1632: Only firmware V10D or later (released in November of 2005) can be upgraded to the latest firmware. The PC board revision number is identified by the revision number inside the triangular shaped sticker affixed to the PC board (requires a 32 pin EPROM socket in the control panel).
See WI2052 for more information.
Note: To support more recent products such as NetLink or iBridge, the physical control panel must be changed to the following versions: For panels GEM-X255, GEM-P9600 and GEM-P3200, firmware V60A22-4 or later is required. For panels GEM-1664, GEM-P1632 and GEM-P816, firmware V30R-9 or later is required.
