FAQs
What is the backset for the Alarm Lock Models 250, 260, 700 and 710 for single door Installations?
For single door installations, the backset is 2-3/4" measured from the edge of the door to the center of the 1-1/4" rim cylinder hole as indicated on the installation template (P5026) supplied with the unit.
- If the doorstop extends more than 5/8" from the jamb, you must adjust the backset by adding the distance in excess of 5/8" to the standard 2-3/4" backset distance. For example, if the door stop measures 3/4" (i.e. 1/8" in excess of 5/8"), the standard 2-3/4" backset would increase to 2-7/8" (by adding the extra 1/8" to the original 2-3/4" backset).
- If the gap between the edge of the door and the door jamb is greater than 3/16", you must subtract the distance of this gap from the standard 2-3/4" backset to move the lockset closer to the jamb.
