What are the steps to move EPI Builder Licenses from one computer to another?
VERY IMPORTANT - To execute any of the EPI Builder utilities (ex. Revoke, Activate...), YOU MUST RIGHT CLICK the utility and select "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR".
MOVING EPI LICENSES: If you are moving the EPI Builder licenses to a new computer, you must Revoke the EPI licenses on the original computer and activate them on the new computer.
SUPPORTED OPERATING SYSTEMS: The version of EPI Builder in the CardAccess 3000 is supported on Windows 7 Pro. This version of EPI should be installed on a Windows 7 Pro, CardAccess 3000 workstation. The version of EPI Builder in the CardAccess 3000 is V6.3.x.
The version of EPI Builder in the CA4K is V6.9.x. This version of EPI Builder is supported on Win 8.1 Pro or Windows 10 Pro.
Below are the steps to Revoke EPI on one computer and move the licenses to another computer.
1) Revoke the EPI Runtime and the EPI Designer licenses by using the EPI Runtime and EPI Designer utilites found on the Start menu. Remember to right click the utilities and select "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR".
2) If the new computer is using CA4K, you must install the 6.9x version of EPI at the end of the CA4K installation.
3) After the new installation of CardAccess 3000 or CA4K with EPI, you must Actiovate the EPI Runtime and EPI Designer Licenses by using the EPI Runtime and EPI Designer Utilities found on the Start Menu. Remember to right click the utilities and select "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR". If you experience any issues with re-activating the EPI licenses, you are not able to call Imageware directly. You must fill out the EPI Support request online form, at the link below. Once submitted, the EPI licensing department will call you.

4) If you are moving EPI to a new 64 Bit computer, refer to the note above to verify you are using a supported operating system for EPI. You might have to perform additional configuration after installing and licensing EPI. You must refer to the "Configuration of EPI Badging 3000 on a 64 bit Operating System" document. 5) You must manually copy all the existing templates and logos from the old computer to the new computer. They should be in the CardAccess3000 or CardAccess4K folder. All templates will have extensions of ".dgn".
6) You must ADD the printer to the new computer. It is important to verify there are printer drivers for the operating system on the new computer. If not, you will need to purchase an updated printer.
7) After adding the printer into the new computer, you MUST modify all existing templates with the New printer information. You must go to "File>Page Setup" and "File>Layout Properties". You must select the new printer and the layout orientation. The you MUST click APPLY and SAVE. After doing so, go back in and verify the settings were saved properly.
