FAQs
What can cause a "Trouble Line Fault" alert to display?
A trouble line fault is caused by a shorted input wire. You must verify if the input is being used and if there are wires on it. If so, you should remove the wires and place a jumper across the input. At this point, you need to verify if the "Trouble Line Fault" message still displays, or it is no longer displaying. If the error message no longer displays with the jumper in, you most likely have a short on one of the input wires. It is very common for a door contact wire to short against a metal door.
For example, if the alert displays "Trouble Line Fault 1-17", there is a problem on Panel 1, input 17.
