What are the wiring requirements for the GEM-ACM?

A 7-conductor wire is required for a card reader. Five can be used if not using the 'sounder out wire' (no sound at the reader when card swiped).
A 9-conductor wire is required for readers with an arm / disarm indicator (includes the GEM-PX Reader and the GEM-H1326C.
ACM to Reader: 250 feet maximum with 22 gauge wire, 500 feet with 20 gauge shielded cable.
ACM to GEM-X255 control panel: 1000 feet maximum with 22 or 24 gauge 4-conductor wire.
AC Transformer: 50 feet maximum with 18 gauge wire.
We recommend all wiring be twisted to reduce possibility of electrical interference.
