What can cause Email Notification not to function properly?
There are multiple reasons why Email Notification is not working properly. It is very helpful to view the "Audit Trail" in the CardAccess 3000 for error messages. Below are some of the causes:
1) In CardAccess 3000 Version 2.9.53 and earlier, the Email Server (ex. Microsoft Exchange) must be configured to allow "Anonymous Access". In many cases, this is not an allowable practice. If this is a problem, you must upgrade to CardAccess 3000 V2.9.88 or later. In the newer versions of CardAccess 3000, you can provide the email credentials.
2) You must enable "SMTP" on your email server.
3) You must configure the screens in the Cardaccess 3000 which apply to email notification. Refer to the Continental Document library for the "Configuring Email Notification" document.
