FAQs
Can I use the ISV WLOCAM camera as a 'dual-technology' motion sensor?
In addition to its outstanding abilities as a high-resolution outdoor wireless camera, the Napco ISV WLOCAM infrared IP camera has features that allow the use of its integral PIR motion sensor and pixel-based analytics to be used as a wireless dual-technology motion sensor.
The ISV WLOCAM features a high-sensitivity PIR motion sensor that, when activated, will prompt the transmission of video clips to the iSeeVideo server. In addition to the PIR motion sensor, the ISee Video system contains a programmable pixel-based motion detection system. If the first PIR sensor detects motion, the second pixel-based motion detection system must also detect motion--within seconds--for the system to trigger a video clip recording. This combination of sensors allows for a very stable motion detector that will trip upon genuine activity at the protected premises.
To enable the camera's integral PIR motion sensor and its pixel-based motion detection system to be used as a wireless dual-technology PIR, log into the VIP-Gateway account at www.videoalert.net and access the Video Motion Settings of the camera. Simply check the selections "Enable Integral PIR Motion Sensor" and " 'AND' With Pixel Based Motion Detection". Set the pixel-based motion detection "boxes" (areas of the live image that are sensitive to motion) by simply clicking the correct colored box (at right) and dragging the box into the live image. Size the "box" by pressing SHIFT and dragging a side of the box with your mouse. See the screen image below.
