FAQs
Can you explain the iRemote-MOD Quick Start Instructions?
1. Wire the network connection from your iRemote-MOD to a valid Internet source on the network (for example, a router or switch to provide an access point).
2. Wire the 12V and ground connections to the keypad bus terminals 9 and 10, respectively.
3. Before connecting the green and yellow data wires, connect the program cable that came with your iRemote-MOD to an Alpha (Configuration) keypad already addressed as #1.
4. Once the Alpha keypad is connected, ensure "01 Out of System RCM Module" appears on the keypad display.
5. At the keypad, press 11123, FUNCTION or MENU; the text Keypad Beep On appears. Press FUNCTION or MENU until the words Keypad Address appear. Enter the keypad address you wish to program, then press ON or ENTER to save. Note: You will not see the address change, until you press ON or ENTER to save.
6. Continue pressing FUNCTION or MENU until Keypad Type appears.
- GEM-RP1CAe2: By default, the iRemote-MOD is a "Classic" GEM-RP1CAe2 keypad, therefore to select the GEM-RP1CAe2 type (RP1CAE appears in the display), press RESET. Press RESET again to exit the Keypad Configuration menu.
- GEM-K1CA: To select the "K Series" GEM-K1CA type, press INTERIOR and K-RP1CAE appears; press ON to save. Press RESET to exit the Keypad Configuration menu.
Note: With "K Series" Alpha Configuration keypads, pressing and holding STAY will change the display to Keypad Beep. This is normal; to verify the Keypad Type, press MENU until Keypad Type appears. The display should read "K-RP1CAE". Press ENTER to save and RESET to exit Keypad Configuration menu. If the configuration keypad still displays RP1CAE, press and hold STAY again, press MENU until Keypad Type appears and confirm that the display reads K-RP1CAE. If so, press ENTER to save, and RESET to exit.
7. Connect green and yellow data wires to the keypad bus control panel terminals 11 and 12, respectively.
8. Add the additional iRemote keypad to your control panel programming via Keypad Programming or by PCD-Windows Quickloader software. Once your control panel is operational no keypad troubles are displaying, log in and view your iRemote at www.myremotekeypad.com. For instructions to activate your iRemote remote keypad account, please see the installation instructions included with the module (page 7 of WI1870, "STEP 4: Activate Your Remote Keypad Account").
