Is my control panel communicating with the StarLink communicator?
If you are not receiving signals at the central station and are unsure if your control panel is communicating with the StarLink communicator, look for an LED labeled "D4" located at the bottom right corner of the StarLink communicator circuit board (see arrow in image below):
This amber LED D4 normally blinks every 8 seconds to indicate a normal 'heartbeat'. When the control panel picks up the telco line and begins to transmit signals, D4 will light solid and then blink rapidly. If D4 does not light in this manner, verify the wiring between the control panel and the StarLink communicator.
