My security system has only one GEMC-FK1 keypad, so why does it need 6 conductors for its connection to the control panel?
To meet agency listings for the control panel, 'Primary User Interface' (i.e., GEMC-FK1 keypad) requires connecting the trouble sounder to the motherboard terminals 13 and 14. Only one (1) 'Primary User Interface' is required, thus it is not necessary to wire the trouble sounder to any additional fire keypads. In addition, the "Basic Operating Instructions" label (OI343) must be physically installed adjacent to this keypad. The required connections for the 'Primary User Interface' are:
