How can I investigate control panel event signals delayed going to the central station?
If you are experiencing signals that are slow to appear at the central station, the Signal Log will likely provide the information you need to clarify the issue.
The StarLink communicator and the NAPCO NOC provide a complete transmission path and return receipt service ("kiss off") to ensure your control panel knows that the event has been delivered.
The Receive Time is the exact moment that the signal is received by the NOC. The Response Time is the exact moment the signal kisses off at the central station.
As shown in the Signal Log example below, notice the two signals that did not receive a kiss off (Response Time is "N/A") from central station on the first try; the NOC resent the signals and the second time they were received, the central station sent a kiss off. Note: We cannot blame the central station when many other factors may have caused the delay, such as atmospheric conditions, carrier service interruptions, etc.
Other issues can likely be solved by the close examination of the Signal Log.
