Do I need to install an FW-RM1 reversing module when connecting a Firewolf FW-2S smoke detector to a fire alarm control panel?
You need a FW-RM1 reversing module when connecting a Firewolf FW-2S smoke detector with a sounder base; no reversing module needed when omitting the sounder base.
With the Sounder Base:
Install the Firewolf FW-RM1 reversing module to the initiating loop on the control panel, then connect the smoke detector bases to the fire loop as shown:
Without the Sounder Base:
No reversing module needed when omitting the sounder base. Wire the fire loop from the initiaing loop to the smoke detector bases as depicted in the diagram below.
***Important note*** When not using the sounder base, remove the sounder jumper from the smoke detector head. Failure to remove the jumper results in the inability of the smoke detector to reset correctly, triggering a control panel fire trouble.
