FAQs
How do I use horns and horn/strobes with the GEMC and FireLink FACPs?
When using horns or horn/strobes with the GEMC and FireLink FACPs, you must use a NAC that is not used by other (non-CO) zones.
If using horns, ensure the horns are designed to sound "coded" alarms. If using horn/strobes, ensure they are 4-wire horn/strobes. The 2 wires from the NAC coded to CO must be connected to the horn with another NAC that is NOT coded to CO; the second NAC must be connected to the strobe’s terminals on the horn/strobe.

Note: When using a volt/ohm meter on a NAC coded for CO, the timing is 0.1 second on, 0.1 second off repeated four times, followed by a 5 second pause. Depending on its sampling rate, your meter may not see a change in voltage, or it may see a minor change in voltage but will likely never see the NAC reach 26VDC.
