FAQs
How do I ensure my Global Users database is correctly exported from and imported into DL-Windows?
DL-Windows provides two helpful utilities to allow a Global User database to be exported from and imported into DL-Windows:
- Export Global Users from .CSV - Opens Windows File Explorer to create .csv file.
- Import Global Users from .CSV - Opens Windows File Explorer to select a .csv file.
A .csv ("Comma-Separated Values") file is a plain-text file where commas are used to separate the DL-Windows data (e.g., Account Names, Lock Types and Lock Descriptions). The data in .csv files are structured in table-like formats and therefore .csv files are compatible with (and can be opened using) Microsoft Excel.
To ensure the data is transferred from and to DL-Windows correctly, be sure to remove any empty rows that may exist between the list of Users in the DL-Windows User List screen before using the Export Global Users from .CSV utility. Leaving empty rows (spaces) between Users will create issues when attempting to import the .csv database file into DL-Windows.
