Why does the "Could not connect to port, Port in use!" message appear in PCD-Windows Quickloader?
If a "Could not connect to port, Port in use!" message appears when using PCD-Windows Quickloader software, it is possible your modem COM port might be assigned to the same COM port used for the PCI2000/Mini PC interface. To verify the assigned port numbers for Quickloader:
- Select Close Account > File > Modem Settings.
- Ensure the Ports Selection Choice reads, "Show all ports."
- The drop-down box for the PCI2000/Mini indicates the allocated COM port number. The following image in an example:
The modem COM port must NOT be the same as the COM port used for the PCI2000/Mini interface. To find the COM port number of your modem, open your computer's Device Manager, expand the "Ports (COM & LPT)" section, and locate your modem entry.
