FAQs
Can I use DL-Windows to add a User Code that will allow access through only one side of a double-sided door lock?
Yes. The double-sided stand-alone door locks provide controlled entry and controlled exit at locations such as airport security areas and police stations. Both sides of the lock contain keypads, keyholes and levers. To differentiate between the two sides of the lock, we specify a "primary" side and a "secondary" side:
- Primary Side: Inserting the metal key into the primary side lock cylinder will always unlock the latch, allowing non-logged entry or exit.
- Secondary Side: Inserting the metal key into the secondary side lock cylinder will NEVER unlock the latch (the inserted key ONLY allows for the removal / installation of the secondary side lever). The lock is specifically designed to not be mechanically unlocked from the secondary side.
To use DL-Windows to set double-sided access, open the Global Users screen, and ensure the User is enabled for the selected lock by highlighting the User and double-clicking the corresponding rectangular "box" (in the Locks area) to turn it green (see red arrow in image below).
Highlight the User and select the Double Sided Access button at the bottom of the Global Users screen. In the Entry Side Selection screen that opens, select the box corresponding to the side of the door you wish allow or disallow access through the door (green to allow access for the User, white to disallow access).
