FAQs
With a Gemini GEM-Series security system, if I replace an existing keypad, does the new keypad need to be reprogrammed?
All keypads must be addressed properly in order to communicate with the control panel. The GEM-RP2/GEM-K2 and GEM-RP3/GEM-K3 series are addressed through an address jumper setting and the GEM-RP1/ GEM-K1 series are addressed through keypad configuration. Note that all new keypads are shipped by default as keypad address # 1, so addressing is not required for a single keypad system. See installation instructions for details and additional settings.
Additionally, models GEM-RP1/GEM-K1 must be configured for keypad tactile beep, entry sounder, EZM address, and zone response for keypads that are using the integral 4 zone EZM.
See the control panel installation instructions for the keypad in use for "Keypad Configuration Mode" instructions.
