FAQs
How do I add the Prima PRETROFIT into the Prima Super Panel and adding 345MHz sensors?
The PRETROFIT Translator Module is a wireless 345MHz to 433MHz translator that allows non-Prima sensors to be compatible with the NAPCO Prima Super Panel. The PRETROFIT translates the non-Prima unencrypted 345Mhz signals into encrypted 433MHz signals compatible with the NAPCO Prima Super Panel. Translated signals include each sensor's alarm, supervisory and trouble transmissions. A maximum of 62 sensors can be enrolled into the PRETROFIT. CAUTION: DO NOT use the PRETROFIT with life safety sensors such as smoke detectors, heat detectors or CO detectors.
To Add the PRETROFIT to the Super Panel
- In the Super Panel's Add Devices screen (Settings > Devices > +), select "Translator".
- Open the PRETROFIT enclosure cover and depress/release the tamper switch.
- Confirm the PRETROFIT serial number is displayed on the Super Panel screen.
- Type a description for the PRETROFIT.
To Enroll Wireless 345MHz Sensors into the PRETROFIT
- Open the PRETROFIT enclosure cover and connect power. Wait at least 30 seconds for the PRETROFIT to fully power up.
- Power all 345MHz sensors to be enrolled into the PRETROFIT.
- Press/release the 'Configure' button to enter Enroll Mode (the blue Enroll Mode LED turns on).
- Trigger each wireless 345MHz sensor's tamper switch (or trigger the sensor to send a violation or fault, such as opening a zone). The PRETROFIT sounds a single beep upon each successful 345MHz sensor enrollment, accompanied by the Enroll Mode LED turning green then back to blue. If the enrollment is unsuccessful or if the sensor was previously enrolled, the LED will turn red.
- Press the "Configure" button to exit Enroll Mode (the LED turns off).
Note: The PRETROFIT auto‐exits Enroll Mode after 10 minutes if no triggered 345MHz signal is received (or if the PRETROFIT module cover is replaced). In addition, previously enrolled sensors are retained if you later decide to add additional sensors; even if both the 12VDC input power and battery backup power are removed from the PRETROFIT, all previously enrolled sensors are retained. The next steps will add the sensors enrolled in the PRETROFIT into the Super Panel:
- In the Super Panel's Add Devices screen (Settings > Devices > +), select the correct sensor type.
- Depress/release the tamper switch of the enrolled sensor.
- Confirm the sensor’s serial number (SN) is correctly displayed on the Super Panel screen.
- Type a useful description for the Sensor.
Factory Reset
To return the PRETROFIT to its factory default condition, press / hold down both the Configure button and the tamper switch for 10 seconds. When the PRETROFIT sounds a long beep; release the switch and button.
