FAQs
Can an Air Access Communicator connect to an Air Access Gateway through an existing customer access point?
No, an access point cannot be used within the Air Access system.
In general, an access point refers to a device that allows access to a Wi-Fi network; in many typical cases, it refers to a wireless router used in most homes and many small businesses.
If only one Air Access Gateway is used in a system, connect the Air Access Communicator to the Air Access Gateway with one RJ-45 Ethernet network cable. If more than one Air Access Gateway is used in a system, Air Access Communicators can only communicate with multiple Air Access Gateways through an Ethernet switch (unmanaged is recommended), not an "access point". See the illustration below to help you visualize a multiple-Gateway system.
