FAQs
What can cause a "Language Translation" error message to display when I try to launch the CardAccess 3000?
There are multiple causes for this error message. Refer to the following:
- The CardAccess 3000 DB Utility lost its settings. Open the CardAccess utility and verify all the settings are correct. The most common setting to get corrupted is the password for the SQL users (cic and sa).
- On a CardAccess 3000 host, verify the CardAccess utility is pointing to the correct sql server, database and the Net Station Id is configured as a CardAccess 3000 host.
- The computer does not have the correct permissions to allow the CardAccess 3000 to launch. If the computer is on a domain, remove it from the domain and log on to the local computer as an Administrator.
- The firewall is not configured properly. On older operating systems, it was recommended to stop the "Windows Firewall" in Windows Services. This was true on Windows XP Pro and Server 2003. On Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Server 2008 R2 and Server 2012 R2, you must leave the firewall started, but you must open (Allow) all ports.
- The database might be corrupted. Create a new database and connect to it. Verify if the CardAccess 3000 launches with a new database. If it does, this confirms the original database is problematic.
