FAQs
Why do the zone descriptions listed in my PCD-Windows Quickloader software not match the zone descriptions listed in my central station reports?
More than likely your Quickloader software contains outdated zone descriptions. This can happen when zones are added, removed, or changed during a service call.
We recommend examining every zone in PCD-Windows Quickloader to ensure that the zone description list is accurate, then submit the list to your central station so they can update their zone list as well.
During an alarm event, an accurate list ensures the central station will correctly advise the customer as to the status of their protected premises.
LOCAL ZONE |
CENTRAL STATION ZONE |
Zone 1: Delay Door |
Zone 1: Delay Door |
Zone 2: Master Bedroom |
Zone 2: Garage |
Zone 3: Motion Detector |
Zone 3: Motion Detector |
Zone 4: Garage |
Zone 4: Guest Bedroom |
Zone 5: Guest Bedroom |
Zone 5: Office |
Zone 6: Office |
Zone 6: Master Bedroom |
Using the above example with mismatched descriptions, if an alarm was triggered by Zone 2, the customer would be mistakenly informed by the central station that the Garage zone went into alarm when in fact it was the Master Bedroom zone.
