FAQs
If I installed DL-Windows software under the Windows Administrative account and selected "Just me" during the installation process, can DL-Windows be configured to allow access by the non-Administrative Windows accounts? Do I need to uninstall and re-install the software?
There is no need to uninstall and re-install the software.
If DL-Windows software is installed under the Windows Administrative account and set for "Just me" during the installation process, DL-Windows can be configured to allow access by the non-Administrative Windows accounts without needing to uninstall / re-install the software.
To allow non-administrative account access:
Step 1:
In the Database Configuration utility included with DL-Windows, change the authentication method from "Windows Authentication" to "SQL Server Authentication".
Step 2:
For Users with an IT Department:
- Instruct your IT department to grant the non-administrative user full administrative privileges for the DL-Windows program.
For Users without an IT Department:
- Grant administrative privileges by right-clicking the DL-Windows icon and selecting Properties. In the Security tab, click to select the current user, then edit the permissions to allow Full control. When finished, click Apply, then click OK to save the new permissions.
