FAQs
What are Continental E-Access "Threat Levels" and how are they used?
THREAT LEVEL is a feature of the E-Access system that allows you to temporarily modify or bypass the existing Schedules and Access Level privileges.
There are five different Threat Levels:
• LOW: All doors set to this level will remain on their assigned Schedule(s) unless the level is raised.
• GUARDED: All doors set to LOW will lock until the level is lowered.
• ELEVATED: All doors set to LOW or GUARDED will lock until the level is lowered.
• HIGH: All doors set to LOW, GUARDED, or ELEVATED will lock until the level is lowered.
• SEVERE: All doors set to LOW, GUARDED, ELEVATED, or HIGH will lock until the level is lowered.
Threat Level is a three-tier hierarchy of Threat Levels to consider when configuring a system. First the System Threat Level, second the Door Threat Level and third the Card Holder Threat Level. See the Door and Card Holder sections for details on setting the Door and Card Holder Threat Levels.
Note: An unlocked door will lock if the System Threat Level is greater than the Door Threat Level; including doors that are unlocked by schedule.
NOTE: A Card Holder cannot access a door if either the Door Threat Level or the System Threat Level is greater than the Card Holder Threat Level.
REFER TO THE E-ACCESS COMPLETE USER GUIDE FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS ON THREAT LEVELS. See the Door and Card Holder sections for details on setting the Door and Card Holder Threat Levels.
