FAQs
How do I get a Continental 36 bit prox card to read in E-Access?
The default E-Access unit should have a Continental 36-bit format already programmed with no parity. It's called "36-Bit No Facility Code." In addition, there is one more Continental 36-bit format, with a facility code.
If the Continental 36-bit format is not in there by default, you must scan a Continental badge and modify the format from what the E-Access Decoder shows as a 36-bit format. To open the decoder go to Settings > Card Format and press Decoder on the bottom left to open. Select the reader and press "Card Scan" then swipe the card on the reader selected, to populate the card format.
You must set Facility Code Start Bit = 2 and Card Number Start Bit = 18. If you are not using facility codes, put zero's in for the facility code.
Important - IF YOU ARE USING FACILITY CODES AND HAVE TWO DIFFERENT FACILITY CODES, IN E-ACCESS THIS WOULD BE TWO DIFFERENT FORMATS. FACILITY CODES ARE PART OF THE FORMAT.
