FAQs
Why is my AL-DTM Data Transfer Module taking so long to communicate with my lock?
If you are experiencing slow AL-DTM Data Transfer Module speeds when communicating, it is likely that the wrong driver is installed, causing delays and sometimes termination of the communication link. The following steps provide a solution:
- Connect the ALPCI2-U cable to the PC.
- Open Device Manager (in Control Panel).
- Select Ports (COM & LPT).
- Highlight "Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM3)", right-click and select Properties.
- Open the Driver tab.
- Check Driver Version. The version MUST be at least 6.7.3.350, if there is a different version, you MUST uninstall it by selecting Uninstall Device. When the dialog opens to uninstall the driver, you must select "Delete the driver software for this device".
- Check the computer to see if it is a 32-bit or 64-bit operating system. Open Windows Settings (in Windows 10, click Start and select the "gear" icon).
- Select System > About. Under System Type, verify the following:
- If it is a 64-bit system, run the "CP210xVCPInstaller_x64" driver application.
- If it is a 32-bit system, run the "CP210xVCPInstaller_x86" driver application.
These drivers are available in the here: Driver - USB Driver for ALPCI2-U.
