FAQs
Do you have a checklist to help ensure I have secure and reliable communications with my automation system through the IBR-ZREMOTE?
To ensure you are able to communicate to your automation systems through an IBR-ZREMOTE, verify the following:
a. Ensure your model IBR-ZREMOTE has the latest automation firmware installed.
- For the new IBR-ZREMOTE with a single Ethernet socket: Firmware RCM 309 / ZWAVE 7021 / NXP 20.1.8 / NLMOD 0.1.34 or greater.
- For the legacy IBR-ZREMOTE with two Ethernet sockets: Firmware RCM 309 / ZWAVE 6183 / NLMOD 1.6.203 or greater.
Note: To update zRemote firmware, you must download and install the NL-MODCONFIG version 3.0.5.11 into your PC. See the following link for instructions and all files needed to update your control panel and IBR-ZREMOTE to the latest firmware: https://tech.napcosecurity.com/index.php/techlibrary/docdetails/brand_id/1/doc_id/2747
b. Ensure your control panels are running the supported firmware:
- With the GEM-P816 / -P1632 / -P1664 series panels, use V31BA or greater
- With GEM-P3200 / P9600 / X255 series panels, use V60A23 or greater
- With "No EPROM" GEM-P3200 / P9600 / X255 series panels, use V72D4 or greater
Note: For multi-Area support, you must use our new "No EPROM" GEM-P3200 / P9600 / X255 series control panels with version 72D4 or greater.
c. PCD-Windows Quickloader software must be version 6.4.2 or greater.
d. In the PCD-Windows Quickloader Keypad Assignment screen, ensure that your IBR-ZREMOTE has an assigned keypad address number and its Type is set to "RCM".
e. Set the Keypad Address, and set Keypad Type to K1CA (see instructions, below):
f. For the legacy IBR-ZREMOTE with two Ethernet sockets, ensure both CAT5 cables are connected to the IBR-ZREMOTE. The Ethernet socket located on the right side is primarily used as the "automation port" that communicates with the Control4 / Automation system (this socket must obtain an IP address through DHCP). If you have the new IBR-ZREMOTE with a single Ethernet socket, this module only has 1 Ethernet port.
Note: For Control4 system Composer version 2.8+ or greater, you must install the "online" NAPCO "Stay & Away" K1CA type driver version 10178. To verify the latest device driver using Composer 2.8+, right-click your security system and select Info to ensure the version that appears is "10178"
Note: When configuring an older legacy IBR-ZREMOTE with two Ethernet sockets to a Savant System / Crestron System, note that the automation IP port is the socket located on the right side of the IBR-ZREMOTE. This MAC address normally starts with "D4" (also written on the back side of the unit). This IP port is responsible for the communication of data over IP to your 3rd party automation systems.
