Can I turn off or reduce the brightness of the GEM-K1VPS keypad LCD display backlighting?
Yes, you can disable the GEM-K1VPS keypad LCD display backlighting on this keypad. You can also have this backlighting auto-dim, and then auto-increase when motion is detected by the integral PIR motion detector (see below for details). Note: This model GEM-K1VPS keypad is only compatible with the GEM-P1664, GEM-P1632 and GEM-P816 control panels.
DETAILS:
- If you cut jumper you will permanently disable the keypad LCD backlighting (will not light again)
- To auto-dim and auto-increase the LCD backlighting when motion is detected, enter the Keypad Configuration mode, as follows:
Enter Keypad Configuration mode by installing the control panel jumper in the configuration position. When the keypad displays "Out of system", press 1 1 1 2 3 MENU, then press MENU repeatedly to scroll through the various features. If you need to turn a feature on or off, press ENTER.
