FAQs
Can I turn off or reduce the brightness of the GEM-DK1CA keypad backlighting?
Yes, with the alpha keypads, you can independently turn off the backlighting of the LCD display and/or the backlighting of the keypad buttons. If you wish to reduce the keypad LCD backlighting intensity, you may only reduce the backlighting of the LCD display by 50% while the keypad is not being used. Refer to the following image:
DETAILS:
- Cut jumper W2 to permanently disable the LCD display backlighting (it will not light again!)
- Cut jumper W1 and W3 to permanently disable the touchpad button backlighting (buttons will not light again!)
- Cut jumper W4 to reduce the LCD display backlighting by 50%; when a button is pressed, the backlighting intensity will temporarily go to 100%, but after 15 seconds will resume its previous 50% intensity.
Note: The LCD ADJUST screw only adjusts the viewing angle of the LCD screen to allow optimum viewing based on the mounting height of the keypad and the height of the users(s). This adjustment does NOT affect the backlight brightness.
