FAQs
Is it possible to report openings and closings in 3/1 format? How do I set up users to report openings and closings when reporting in 3/1 format? How does my central station differentiate between users for reporting purposes?
It is possible to report user openings and closings to your central station using 3/1 format, but due to the limited amount of information that can be transmitted when using 3/1 format, certain aspects of the data may not be available for transmission.
When setting up user openings and closings, you must designate the Subscriber ID via the Area. Reporting in 3/1 is the same, but you must use the first 3-digit locations for the Sub ID section. After that, you may designate any users you wish to report. Finally, you must enter the openings and closings Report Code section, and designate a "B" for openings, and a "C" for closings.
Although you can designate the number of users that send the report, there is unfortunately no way to differentiate between each user. For example, if 6 separate users were configured to report, they all would trigger the sending of the report, but the central station would receive the same information.
Example: Subscriber ID is "123"
User 1 arms the control panel: The central station receives "123C"
User 2 arms the control panel: The central station receives "123C"
User 3 arms the control panel: The central station receives "123C"
...And so on. Same rules apply for disarming also:
User 1 disarms the control panel: The central station receives "123B"
User 2 disarms the control panel: The central station receives "123B"
User 3 disarms the control panel: The central station receives "123B"
