What can cause the CardAccess 3000 not to launch?
If the CardAccess 3000 software will not launch, and was working correctly at one point, the following are a few things to check:
1) Verify the CardAccess/Database utility is still configured properly and has not lost it settings. Verify the following settings:
SQL Server Name
SQL Database Name
CicDataServer IP = On a host use 127.0.0.1, on a workstation this must be the IP address of the Host computer.
CicDataServer Port = 9000
Network Station ID = Set to "Host PC" if this is a CardAccess host. If this is a workstation, set to "Workstation #
NOTE: On newer operating systems, you might have to right click the CardAccess Utilities, and "Run As Administrator".
2) Verify the computer still has the correct permissions. Have an IT associate log into Windows as a "FULL Administrator" off the domain, and verify if the problem still exists.
3) On XP and Server 2003, verify the firewall is still stopped and disabled in Windows services. On Windows 7 Pro, Server 2008 R2, Windows 8.1 Pro and Server 2012 R2, verify the firewall is started and all the ports are still opened (allowed).
4) On Windows 7 and Server 2008, select "Run As Administrator" on the CA3000 Launcher.
