FAQs
With my StarLink radio accounts, the Sur-Gard receiver randomly generates a "YS" (transmitter swap condition). How often does the NOC change its source IP address to which the central station reports?
Source IP address changes are rare; the outgoing load dictates the need to route the packets through a different gateway in real-time. When this does happen, the Sur-Gard receiver sees a different source IP address for certain reports (compared with the IP address that was originally set for the account when originally registered). A change in the source IP address causes the Sur-Gard receiver to generate the YS (transmitter swap condition). This alert will clear by itself after a few transactions between the NOC and the receiver with a YK condition.
To suppress YS alerts, enable the receiver Option [11B] "Mask Transmitter Swap" (in the IP Channel).
